An open box item is just as it sounds — a product purchased brand new by a previous customer and returned unused (the box has just been opened!). Each product is in pristine condition, includes the original warranty, and comes with all the original accessories. While the product may be repackaged, the original packaging could show signs of wear.

At Moment, we take Open Box times seriously. This means every single product is tested and goes through our rigorous multi-inspection process. For camera gear specifically, we guarantee that every camera maintains a shutter count of fewer than 200 clicks to qualify as Open Box. Anything above that is classified as "used."
As dedicated photographers and filmmakers who value high-quality gear, want to ensure that our Open Box inspection process is done with good intentions.
The inspection begins with a thorough examination of the outer packaging for broken seals, which indicate tampering or prior use. We then open the product packaging to confirm the presence of all original informational cards and accessories.
Each product undergoes a rigorous evaluation for any signs of wear or blemishes. Functionality tests are essential; for all electronics, this means powering on the product and verifying that it operates normally. Cameras receive extra scrutiny — we power them on, ensure normal operation, and specifically check the shutter count to meet our stringent criteria.
Once assessed, products are meticulously cleaned, dusted, and prepared for repackaging. We use available spare parts to guarantee that all necessary components are included, restoring the item to its complete state. Finally, each product is labeled with an Open Box sticker, signifying that it has passed our comprehensive inspection process and is ready for resale. This thorough approach ensures that our customers receive products that are as close to new as possible.

If a product's box is tampered with or shows signs of damage, we must classify the item as Open Box, regardless of whether the gear inside is brand new or untouched. This policy is crucial to maintaining the integrity and transparency of every product we sell.
