Sometimes, it’s simply not enough to read about far-off destinations and crazy expeditions — you have to visualize them clearly enough to imagine yourself there in that precise experience.

When you ask yourself why you travel, perhaps it’s because you love the unexpected. You’re drawn to the energy in discovering the new, waking up in the morning and feeling like anything could happen. Never visiting the same place twice, travel is your counter to life's consistent schedule. And if you ask yourself why you carry a camera, you’ll have a similar purpose: to notice the tiny details you wouldn’t be able to otherwise.

We’ve compiled a list of our favorite travel photographers to follow on Instagram. But, their work goes far beyond their feeds. They evoke a sense of immense talent that can only be soaked through everyday loyalty. Check out this list, listen to their podcasts and portfolios, and give them a follow.

Meagan Bourne

"Meagan is a 24-year-old photographer based in Southern California who constantly travels the world. She specializes in wedding photography, elopements, and adventure photography. Over the past few years, she has visited 16 different states and 15 different countries. Meagan has lived out of a suitcase for two months while traveling around Europe, taken a moped ride through the streets of Bali (with an ungraceful landing), summited mountain peaks in the Swiss Alps, indulged in delicious food in Italy, and captured photos for brands and couples in all of these incredible places.

Meagan aims to use her photography to capture and tell each client's unique story. She may not be the right fit if you're looking for posed, traditional images, but she is the perfect photographer if you're after authentic, candid, and creative images that will transport you back to the moment they were taken."

Dylan Furst

Dylan Furst is a photographer from the Pacific Northwest, heavily inspired by the darker and rainy days that frequent his home in Bellingham, Washington State. By adapting to this environment, the imminent days of rain become a time of growth and creating. While travel plays a big part in his photography, his focus is mostly on details in nature. He believes a simple shift in perspective can turn the smallest details into works of art, in destinations around the world and in your own backyard.

Benjamin Hardman

Benjamin’s fine art works encapsulate the North’s most obscure landscapes—the barren, cold, and volatile environments inhabited by colossal ice structures, carved volcanic mountains, and resilient wildlife. Benjamin divides his time between a range of photographic assignments, guiding, and solo exploration, utilizing social media as a platform to share his experiences and perspectives on life and nature in the North.

Benjamin's works on glaciers aim to convey the fragility and transitory intricacies of glacial ice amidst the accelerated retraction and a changing global climate.
